June 4th 2009 - Service restored
Service is now back to normal on both montreal.freenet6.net and amsterdam.freenet6.net
June 1st 2009 - System outage
Both systems are currently down due to a software bug. We are currently working on restoring the systems and fixing the bug.
April 16th 2009 - Static address assignment issue resolved
Address assignments are now maintained even after an unexpected reboot of a server.
March 30th 2009 - Montreal.freenet6.net back online
The Freenet6 system in Montreal has been replaced. Due to a problem with the special software used to maintain different static prefixes at different gateway6 systems the satic assignments reset every time a system reboots. Work is ongoing to solve this issue.
March 25th 2009 - Outage on montreal.freenet6.net
The Freenet6 system in Montreal is down due to a hardware problem. Hopefully back online shortly.
March 13th 2009 - New Gateway6 servers online
Two new systems in Amsterdam and Jakarta have been added to Freenet6. Please upgrade the Gateway6 client and connect to anonymous.freenet6.net or authenticated.freenet6.net for the best possible service. Montreal.freenet6.net and amsterdam.freenet6.net are available for users who need a static address assignment.
December 13th 2008 - Address allocation issues resolved
Address assignment should now be static as it was before the upgrade. Please report any remaining issues in the forum.
December 10th 2008 - Address allocation issues
There are some issues with the stability of the address allocations. It seems the addresses change for some users when reconnecting the tunnel. We are working on finding the problem.
December 9th 2008 - First step of Freenet6 upgrade
After several years of service the first step has been taken on major upgrade of Freenet6. The service on the orginal Freenet6 site is no back after a couple of hours outage with a new Gateway6 system to provide better performance.
As part of the whole upgrade the site had to be renumbered and the prefix delegation size changed to /56 from /48. This was done to allow multiple site without future renumbering. Soon two more sites, in Europe and Asia, will go online and significantly improve the performance and stability of the service.
September 12th 2006 – Account Creation Disabled
Account creation was resumed on September 13th. The Freenet6 service should be back to normal and fully integrated to go6.net.
September 12th 2006 – Account Creation Disabled
Account creation has been temporarily disabled on the Freenet6 server. The service will be restored shortly after go6.net is officially launched.
May 15th 2006 – Reverse DNS delegation issues
Some issues have be noticed with the reverse DNS delegation of the new IPv6 prefixes starting with 2001:5c0:9xxx. At this time, reverse delegation for these prefixes does not work. We expect this issue to be fixed within the next few days.
October 18th 2005 – Freenet6 servers move
The move has been completed on October 18th after we fixed a number of routing problem. The service should be functional and stable now. Please report any problem on support@freenet6.net.
September 28th 2005 – Freenet6 servers to be moved
The Freenet6 servers "broker.freenet6.net" and "anon.freenet6.net" will be moved to Teleglobe's network on October 12th 2005 in order to improve the quality of the connection. Service will be unavailable for several hours on that day. Some maintenance downtime may also happen for short periods of time during the following days. Teleglobe, a pioneer in IPv6 deployment and a long-standing partner of Hexago, will now be providing connectivity for Freenet6.
September 28th 2005 – Old Freenet6 server phase out
Please note that the service on the old Freenet6 server, tsps2.freenet6.net, will be phased out on October 12th. Since this server is using 6Bone address space (starting with 3ffe), all assigned addresses and prefixes on that server will be discarded. Users registered on the old server have to register again using this page

May 31st 2005 – Routing issues
We experience routing problems with Freenet6's IPv6 prefix this morning. This issue is fixed now.
March 23rd 2005 – Server update
Freenet6 servers will be updated on Wednesday March 23rd. The service might temporarily unavailable on "anon.freenet6.net" and "broker.freenet6.net" during short periods on the 23rd and the following days.
August 16th 2004 – Freenet6 on a new server
Freenet6Since its beginnings in 1999, the Freenet6 service has gone through several milestones. An important one happened in June 2003 when Freenet6 started using the Hexago Migration Broker solution, providing its users with a better supported environment.
